This will be short and quick, because I’m still annoyed at the cost of this little “repair”. Rewind a few days after getting the truck washed, and I noticed that I was… missing a part. My only guess was that somehow it got dislodged, or even vacuumed up on accident. So okay – I need a replacement. I went online, did some CSI, and I found it available: “Knob Release Lever” which was OEM Nissan Part 34956-EA600. I ordered it from a nearby Arizona vendor, and within 2 days it was in my mailbox:

Sweet! So. I unbagged it, went to the truck, and proceeded to install said part where it was supposed to be – here’s a before/after photo, see if you can tell the difference:

So those with a keen, detail-oriented eye will probably notice what changed between the two photos above, but in case for some reason known to Britney Spears you can’t – this is what I bought:
